Set new moon intentions to help you reach your goals.
By allowing yourself to send out a spiritual message to the universe, you mirror that action internally and send a message to both your consciousness and subconsciousness.
Each month, you will be able to set your own new moon intentions to manifest your reality.

What the New Moon Represents
The new moon marks the start of a new lunar cycle.
A lunar cycle shows the movement of the moon around the earth. Depending on the location from the sun, the moon goes through four main phases.

Each lunar cycle starts with the new moon, and with this, the new moon represents new beginnings.
By shifting your mindset to allow spiritual forces, such the new moon, to guide you on your journey of personal growth, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised.
Many use the new moon as a time to manifest their goals, and not only is it motivating, believing in a higher power that will assist you brings a sense of comfort.

Preparation by Cleansing
Before you begin setting your new moon intentions, you need to reset and have your inner energy match the energy of the new moon.
Since the new moon is all about new beginnings and a fresh outlook, take this time to reset and freshen up by cleansing.

Cleanse Externally
Clean Your Space
Take some time reorganize and get control over your environment.
By decluttering your space, you allow yourself to raise up your personal energy.
The action of removing physical mess creates a subconscious reaction of mirroring.
Your mind mirrors your actions and slowly begins to remove the mess of unnecessary thoughts.
As you clean your space, focus on your breathing. Allow yourself to inhale and exhale deeply as you work.
You’ll then begin to feel a sort of meditative trance even if your body is still moving.
Cleanse Your Body
After cleaning up your environment, allow yourself a moment to relax as you enjoy a nice warm shower or bath.
As the water wraps around you, envision the water washing away all energy that has gathered up over the last month.
Again, the new moon symbolizes a new start, and with this, you should envision all extra energy being cleaned off of your body and spirit.
Like the new moon, you will start anew.
Cleanse Internally
A clear mind brings the ability to focus on all intentional thoughts.
While having a clean space and body can definitely help clear the mind, this next step is to do exactly that.
Clear Your Mind
First, get yourself into a neutral mindset.
You can do this by meditating and allowing your thoughts to float in and out.
By being aware of your thoughts yet not letting linger too long in your mind, you get a better grasp at the energy you want to attract.
Meditation takes practice, so don’t feel discouraged if it’s difficult in the beginning. Check out guided meditations to help you refocus during it.
Law of Attraction
The theory of the Law of Attraction is that your mind plays a large role in creating your reality.
Basically:
- A positive mindset attracts a positive outcome
- A negative mindset attracts a negative outcome.
For more information on the Law of Attraction, see my post: The Magic of Manifesting: Dreams Turn Into Reality
Now that you’ve neutralized your mindset through meditation, create a space for yourself that has high vibrational energy.
Play relaxing music. Light some candles or turn on your diffuser. Drink some tea.
Starting this new lunar cycle with a positive mindset will help set the tone for the rest of the moon phases.
Setting New Moon Intentions
Importance of Manifesting
The act of manifesting starts with being in harmony with your spiritual self.
Through spirituality, manifesting is when you allow yourself to feel emotions in which you believe you will receive what you have put out into the world.
Manifesting is sending out your thoughts to the universe with intention and having it return back as reality.
To become successful in manifesting, you need to also understand that setting the intention is only the first step.
You need to follow one of The Four Agreements as explained by Don Miguel Ruiz: Try your best!
For the universe and the magick of the moon to assist you with your goals, you need to meet them halfway by doing the best you possibly can.
The act of manifesting and setting intention during a new moon focuses more on your own personal power.
This is crucial to understand as it is what will help you most in reaching your goals.
Dedicating a New Moon Intentions Journal
You should choose a new journal that has never been used before and dedicate it as your journal for all new moon intentions.
By having a dedicated journal, you are manifesting that everything you write in this specific journal will return as reality by the next new moon.
If possible, write out or say a dedication for the journal.
It can be along the lines of:
“I dedicate this journal to help me manifest my goals for this new lunar cycle. With the new moon, I set my intentions for the universe to guide me towards achieving my goals”
Set Specific Goals
When setting your intentions and writing out your goals for this lunar cycle, make sure to be specific.
You should be able to envision what you want and how exactly you will feel once you get it.
For example, I made sure to specify that I will pass the test I’ve been studying for and receive my certificate on the first try.
By specifying, you’re sending a message to both external and internal forces.
Your mindset and energy goes toward reaching your exact goal, such as “on the first try.”
(In case you were wondering, yes! I passed on the first try!)
Write in the Present Tense
You should write out your goals as if you have already achieved them.
First, envision how you will feel as if you have met your goals and then write your new moon intentions in your dedicated journal.
By first visualizing how you will feel beforehand, you are using the power of manifestation. Your thoughts can manifest reality.
At the end of each new moon’s list of goals, practice gratitude.
Thank the universe, the world, yourself, or any higher power that you wish to thank and show gratitude for this moment of peace and intention setting.
Write your thanks at the end of the list of your new moon intentions so that it may resonate more within yourself.
Beginning Something New
Just like the new moon as the start of a new lunar cycle, start a new hobby or routine as well.
It may or may not be one of your goals that you’ve written down but if there is anything new you want to try, use today to begin this.
The energy of the new moon and the current mindset you have put yourself in will help keep you motivated to try and create a routine.
This can be starting to meditate daily, exercise 3 times a week, or even just working on a new hobby a little bit each day.
As you can tell by my blog, I like to focus on my self care.
For myself, I’ll be starting a new self care routine provided to me by my Sacred Self Care Oracle Cards from Goddess Provisions.
These oracle cards were created with the intention to enhance self love. I set my own intentions to have certain cards call out to me to choose.
These cards then show activities to add to my self care routine for this lunar cycle.

Comment one of your goals below to manifest it into reality!
I loved this post! I’ve been slowly getting into manifesting and I’ve been wanting to incorporate new moon rituals into my practice, so I’m definitely going to save this for later 🙂
Yay! I hope you’re able to incorporate your own new moon ritual! The next new moon is also going to be a solar eclipse, so it’ll be interesting 🙂
I downloaded the free app version of ‘Moon Calendar,’ and I definitely recommend it if you want to be aware of when the next new moon or other moon phases will be!
I love setting new moon intentions. It’s like a little ritual I look forward to each month and it’s so great to review the previous moon cycle.
